Even though the Demon King is back, that doesn’t mean you can’t go see some sights.
In The Legend of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, the country of Hyrule is huge and full of life. There are a lot of interesting places to discover, from the vast underground area to the different places on the surface and even up into the sky.
With such an interesting and immersive world, it’s no surprise that Tears of the Kingdom has lots of fun towns and settlements to discover, full of interesting people, great music, and amazing sights. But which are the best of the best? Here is how we rank each town in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Goron City
In Tears of the Kingdom, the Gorons’ home is just as lively as ever, though it’s not as warm. Since The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Death Mountain has become less dangerous, so more Hylians, Gerudo, and other people who live in Hyrule can go there now.
When you first arrive, the town is in the middle of a marbled rock outbreak. Before you can enjoy Goron City’s best parts, like the hot springs, the Mine Cart Land minigame, and more, you’ll need to figure out what’s going on. Goron City might not be where you spend most of your time, but the Gorons are usually kind and friendly, so it’s usually worth going there.
Rito Village
Even if it’s snowing and there’s a storm going on, Rito Village is still as beautiful as ever when you get there. The village’s kids have been taking care of the place while the adults are out trying to solve problems, like the lack of food, that the village is facing.
Rito Village is always a nice place to visit, no matter how cold it is or how windy it is again. The Flight Range and the offices of the Lucky Clover Gazette are two things to see in the area, and that’s not even mentioning the bright and lively Rito people you’ll meet in town. Even though Rito Village is built around a single tower, it always stands out.
Kakiriko Village
Since Breath of the Wild, Kakiriko Village has changed a lot. What used to be your center hub town is now full of large, ring-shaped Zonai ruins that make an archaeologist’s dream. Kakiriko Village is by far the most different from all the towns that come back in Tears of the Kingdom.
Thankfully, the changes in the town don’t just affect the way it looks and feels. There are a lot of side quests and new people walking around town, and some of your favorite Shiekah people have changed a lot since the last game. Paya, Impa’s shy granddaughter, is the most important person because she has taken over as the tribe’s leader.
Korok Forest
When you first meet Korok Forest in Tears of the Kingdom, it is in bad shape. If you try to get in through The Lost Woods’ main door, you’ll be frustrated because every path forward takes you right back to the entrance.
Even if you find your way to the center of the forest, the forest is still in bad shape. You won’t see Korok Forest back to its normal, magical state until you help the Great Deku Tree get better.Korok Forest always feels like an adventure because it is full of cute Koroks, shrines, side quests, and beautiful scenery.
Zora’s Domain
It’s hard to say how beautiful Zora’s Domain is in a few words. The Zora people’s beautiful and quiet home is covered in sludge when you arrive in Tears of the Kingdom, which is very scary.
By helping the Zora with their problem, the place will get back to normal, and the changes that are happening there feel big and important. The fact that the Zora live so long means that there are a lot of different age groups and personality types among them, which also helps.
Gerudo Town
Gerudo Town, like other places in Tears of the Kingdom, is a difficult place when you first get there. Residents of the town have gone underground to hide from a huge sandstorm and dangerous new enemies who have started to show up in the area.
Still, it’s nice that Riju, the boss of Gerudo Town, has given Link special permission to explore the town even though it’s underground. Before and after helping solve the problem in the area, it’s interesting to talk to the Gerudo people, and there’s plenty to do deep in the desert.
Lookout Landing
In Tears of the Kingdom, Lookout Landing is your new main hub. It is in the middle of Hyrule, right below the scary flying Hyrule Castle. You’ll go there to talk to some of the game’s most interesting characters, both new and old. Purah and Robbie do research, the rest of Hyrule’s army gets together to train, and Hetsu the Korok hangs out for a while.
The way Lookout Landing shifts and changes as you move through the game’s story makes it even more unique. As you finish making plans for the big final fight, people come and go as they travel to and from the area. Lookout Landing is the best place to go if you want to see how what you’ve done so far has affected the game.
Tarrey Town
The most popular one The best part of Breath of the Wild was Tarrey Town, where you could help build the town from the ground up. Tears of the Kingdom makes this beautiful and peaceful little town even better by adding new ways to connect with the area.
First of all, everyone who helped build Tarrey Town in the last game is still living there, even though they have moved on to other places. There are even more people living in the town now, and it has grown into the nearby wetlands, where a construction site and a Zonai study area have been set up. Link can even move to Tarrey Town if you have enough rupees to think about buying a house.
Hateno Village
Something about Hateno Village has always made me feel like I was at home. That might be why Link and Zelda both lived there at different times. Some of the best characters and side quests have always been in the friendly town of Hateno. In Tears of the Kingdom, there’s even more going on in Hateno.
There’s no other place in Drift Boss where you can become a teacher’s helper, help with a political campaign, learn about the latest fashion, and do some farming by picking plants nearby. Hateno Village feels the most like a real place to live out your life out of all the towns in the game.
Lurelin Village
In Breath of the Wild, you didn’t have to go to Lurelin Village, a quiet beach town, and you can technically skip it in Tears of the Kingdom as well. This time, though, you’ll hear a lot more people talking about the area during your trip, mostly because of what’s going on there.
Pirates have taken over this small, out of the way town, and it’s up to you to get rid of them. Even though beating the pirates is a lot of fun on its own, it’s not the only reason why Lurelin Village is the best town in Tears of the Kingdom. Lurelin Village stands out from the other towns in Tears of the Kingdom because it is helping its people rebuild, start new businesses, expand their homes, and even come up with new attractions to bring in more tourists.
