Introduction
The Roopkund Lake, also known as the riddle Lake or the Skeletons Lake is a high altitude glacier- fed lake in the Chamoli quarter of Uttarakhand, India. positioned at a mind- blogging altitude of,470 bases or,020 measures above ocean position, It lies in the stage of the Gharwal Himalayas, more specifically- the Trishul massif. The mysterious Skeleton Lake
On the discovery of mortal bones in 1942 in the Roopkund Lake, originally, it was believed that the shell bones were of the Japanese dogfaces who had failed while crossing the Roopkund trail during World War II and also lost their lives under mysterious circumstances.

The tradition of Roopkund Lake

Near Bedni Kund, it’s said that Maa Durga had killed Demon Mahishasura in her Kali Avatar, making the place auspicious.
So, Lord Shiva created a lake with his Trishul and stood guard while his woman bathed in the lake. blue waters of the lake, therefore naming the lake as Roopkund.
The Nanda Raj Jat Yatra takes place every 12 times. ram comes to visit this place and is auspicious, and is presumably a form of God.
Original legends have it that King Jasdal of Kanauj was on his way with his woman to take over the passage and win the Goddess’s favour. The Goddess therefore transferred a violent snowstorm killing hundreds on their way to passage. This also explains the cadaverous remains in the Roopkund Lake.

monuments ’, one can see a many big monuments then. According to the myth, during the periodic
passage, the king got detracted by the royal hop. This invited the Goddess’s wrath who cursed the hop
and turned them into monuments.
